myasanet is a free service for all internet users and allows you to create a custom homepage of links and email contacts quickly and easily. You can then point your browser's default page to your new homepage.

Your homepage can be updated straightaway and anytime, as much or as little as possible, after that.

 

  • An unlimited number of custom links are possible, in a predefined layout to provide easy access to your most important websites
     
  • Select any available search engines and query all from the one page and the one text box
     
  • Add an unlimited number of email contacts and, if configured by your internet program, links can open up in your default email client
     
  • Set reminders, alerting you to important events up to two days beforehand

Is the service free?

Yes. There are no plans to introduce a fee or banner adverts.

 

What details do you require to register?

  • You need to choose a membername (this forms your homepage address http://my.asanet.co.uk/?membername) Your membername must be between 3-15 characters, alpha-numeric with no spaces
  • A suitable password
  • A name to refer to you as - either your real name or a nickname
  • Your country - this means appropriate search engines can be chose (eg. UK members can choose Amazon UK)
  • Your timezone - for reminder accuracy
 

What are the "Homepage Privacy" options about?

There are two options available here.

The first is "Publicly available". Anyone can visit your homepage.


The second is "Only available if you are logged in to myasanet". You need to be logged in under your own membername to access your homepage. No other public visitors can see your page.

These options can be changed at any time in your Profile.

 

Do visitors see my email contacts and reminders? What about spam?

Regardless of your privacy option, no-one other than yourself, when logged in, will be able to see email contacts or reminders. This ensures a degree of privacy is kept and no spamming.

 

How do I delete my homepage?

If you no longer want to keep your homepage and membership, contact us.

  What information is collected?

Statistics are kept on the frequency and times individual homepages are visited, and whether the member is logged in. Information on referrers (who has linked to a myasanet homepage from their site) is also kept. Please note that searches performed or links chosen are not logged.
